My Top 10 Comfort YouTube Videos
April 19, 2021
After facing any slight problem or inconvenience, the only logically sound thing to do is watch comforting YouTube videos. These are my top ten favorite comfort videos to watch on YouTube to make any day better.
1. First Day of School Vlog – Emma Chamberlain
I watch Emma Chamberlain’s “First Day of School” vlog at least once a month, and to me, it’s the exact definition of comforting. In this video, Emma documents her first day of junior year, which took place in 2017. Nothing’s better than slightly aged humor and a somewhat poor quality video after a long day.
2. Everything Grimes Eats During Her Pregnancy – Harpers BAZAAR
I can’t say exactly why this is one of my favorite YouTube videos of all time, but something about Grimes making her own “sludge” while dating the wealthiest man in the world is definitely interesting. Not only do I love some of her songs, but Grimes’ dorkiness is too comforting to handle.

3. I Turned YouTuber Apologies into a Board Game – Andrew Lowe
If you’re looking for a comforting video and a good laugh, this one is definitely for you. Andrew Lowe’s witty humor and creativity peaks in “I Turned YouTuber Apologies into a Board Game,” and another one of my favorite YouTubers, Chris Klemens, is in the video too.

4. Grammys 2021 Fashion Review – Kelsey Kreppel and Cody Ko
Kelsey Kreppel and Cody Ko are by far the funniest duo to watch, and this fashion review is hilarious. The best part of the video is that Kelsey and Cody know nothing about fashion, which makes for some quality content and a good laugh.
5. Phoebe Bridgers: Tiny Desk Home Concert – NPR
If you haven’t watched a Tiny Desk Concert, you’re missing out. In this Tiny Desk Concert, Phoebe Bridgers performs some great songs, like “Kyoto,” while sitting in a sweet mock-up of the Oval Office. It’s the same spirit as a concert, but the intimate setting creates a comforting space.

6. Malakai’s First Rainy Day! – Nash Grier
About a year ago, I rediscovered Nash Grier’s YouTube channel, and it’s one of the best things that’s happened to me to date. Nash’s family of three is adorable, and he beautifully documents their daily adventures on his channel. In this adorable video, Nash’s son, Malakai, sees rain for the first time. Nash’s videos are on the longer side, so if you enjoy lengthy comfort videos, you’ll enjoy his channel.
7. 21 Outfits – Devon Lee Carlson
Devon’s calm and charismatic presence puts this video on the comfort list, and it’s technically a two-in-one video: a source of comfort and great outfit ideas. If you enjoy daily vlogs, you’ll enjoy Devon’s channel. It’s a more relaxed and fun approach to filming, so I like watching her when I’m stressed.
8. Going on a Trip by Myself – Emma Chamberlain
Recently, I’ve been watching Emma Chamberlain’s videos more often and have been loving her recent content. In “Going on a Trip by Myself,” Emma gets a hotel room in LA and does everything she would normally do in her house, but in a hotel. As simple as it sounds, it’s one of my favorite videos on YouTube and gives me a great sense of comfort.

9. Deli Meat Tier List – Cody Ko
It’s exactly what the title says. Cody Ko rates deli meats, and I’m not complaining. It’s a hilarious and informative video, but also has a comforting vibe. If you’re stressed about the burdens of the world, nothing else says “checking out” than watching deli meats be ranked. This is the perfect comfort video.
10. Dessert with Kelsey (and Cody): The full 180 – Kelsey Kreppel
Of course, my favorite duo makes the list twice, and in this last video, Kelsey and Cody attempt to make cookies.
