On March 27th, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., Rosary will be hosting the sophomore social/picnic for sophomore Royals and Friars.

It has been nearly a year since the sophomores have had a collaborative event with Servite, and students from both schools are highly anticipating the event.

One of these students is Kate Rosales ’23.  Considering that this is one of the first Rosary and Servite events since the pandemic began Kate shared her enthusiasm, “I feel that it will be good to unite our campuses and schools again. It will feel nice to have us feel united through the separation and stress of the pandemic.”

Kate further revealed what she is expecting out of the event, ” I have no expectations, but I just want to sit and talk to friends and be distracted from the stresses of academics, athletics, and the pandemic.”

She further stated why she is happy to attend the sophomore social: “I’m excited because it will feel more normal and nice to see friends.”

Alongside Kate, Servite student Ryan Gonzales ’23 elaborated on how he feels about the picnic being the first collaborative school event since the pandemic, “I feel very excited to be back and see new people.”

Ryan then shared what he is expecting out of the event and why he is looking forward to it: “I am expecting to meet people I haven’t met before and get closer to people I don’t know that well, and I’m looking forward to socializing with people from both Servite and Rosary.”

Reflecting on both Kate and Ryan’s enthusiasm, it seems that this first collaborative Servite and Rosary event will be a great kick-off to school-wide events restarting.
