Stuffed animals are cute, cuddly, and fun to collect, but in most scenarios, they also have a deeper more significant meaning connected to them.

Some of Rosary’s own Royals have stuffed animals that have maintained prevalence and comfort through their childhood up to now.

Among these Royals, Kate Rosales ’23 has a notable stuffed animal companion, Fanney the elephant. She revealed that she got Fanney when she was two years old, and she has had him for a total of 14 years now.

Kate revealed the comfort and solace Fanney provides her, “He has a distinct smell and texture and it’s very comforting. I used to take him everywhere including the store and he brings me a genuine sense of comfort.”

Alongside Kate, Adriana Arroyo ‘23 also has a significant stuffed animal friend, Francis. Adriana shared more details on the circumstances in which she got Francis, “I got Francis last week! I know this is very recent, but I wasn’t having too good of a day, and I came across this adorable stuffed animal at the store.”

She went on to further explain Francis’s significance, “He represents so much more than just a stuffed animal. When I got Francis, I was walking with friends and felt so happy. Francis reminds me of them and this feeling of hope during hard times.”

Royals’ connection with both their old and new stuffed animal buddies displays how comfort and solace are prevalent in many things, especially in uncertain circumstances like now.
