Royals Working Towards Earning Their Driver’s Licenses
February 17, 2021
In the midst of quarantine, multiple Royals have dedicated their free time at home towards getting their license.
Among these Royals, Sarah Bradford ’23 has been avidly studying in order to receive her license.
Sarah has not yet finished driver’s ed, but she went on to share what she is anticipating most once she begins driving, “I’m looking forward to hopefully seeing my friends more often, and being able to have a bit more freedom.”
She then provided advice to those that are going to begin their path to receiving their license: “Just stay calm and realize that once you start driving, it’s really not all that scary, and some people even find it relaxing. Plus, you’ll be able to drive yourself places and see your friends more often too!”
Alongside Sarah, Marlie Machado ’23 is also on her way to earning her driver’s license. Marlie is close to being finished with her driver’s ed course and she revealed what she is anticipating once she receives her license, “I’m expecting a sense of overwhelming nervousness once I start driving because both parallel parking and driving with other people is intimidating.”
Marlie went on to describe what she predicts her driving ability will be like: “I feel like I could be a good driver, but I have to be really aware of other people and what they do because sometimes others are not aware and drive erratically.” Finally, she revealed advice she would give to others working towards earning their license: “When you begin working towards your license pay attention, maintain patience, and not skim over the driver’s ed course.”
Hopefully, the Royals working towards earning their driver’s license within quarantine will maintain their persistence and earn their license so that they can experience freedom and fun through driving.
