From the iconic RHS socks to bland white ankle socks, Rosary has entered a new age of footwear. The Rosary Academy handbook now adds crazy socks to its infamous list of approved socks.

This year, students are allowed to wear any socks and any shoes they want (with the exception of mass days). Many students have taken advantage of this newfound freedom by rocking the craziest socks they own.

Amanda Guzman ‘18 is ecstatic about the new rule change explaining, “I really enjoy the freedom it gives us to express ourselves. Now you can get a sense of a person just by looking at their socks.”

Ironically, Amanda prefers plain white socks, but loves to see all the eccentric socks students have been wearing.

Senior Lauren Tapia shows off her humorous personality by wearing her favorite pancake socks to school.  She says, “My socks have pancakes on them, and it reminds me how much I love breakfast. It makes me look forward to the next day and keeps me going.”

Not only are the new additions to the uniform incredibly cute and spunky, but they also add color to the Rosary campus. A bright and colorful array of different patterned socks add to Rosary’s crazy quirky personality.

Crazy socks provide a fun way for students to express themselves. Senior Vanessa Orrin gives a clear picture of her personality through her artsy socks, “They’re orange and I love The Scream; it’s my favorite painting. I wore them today because it’s Monday, and I’m screaming on the inside.”

“Today I’m wearing my ‘Rasta Sockas’ that my brother’s sock company made. There’s always a bunch of leftover socks at my house, so today I took a pair,” Senior Lindsey Shank shares.

With so many different styles and personalities, it’ll for sure be a surprise to see what socks the Rosary students will be showing off at school every day.
