You may only know her as your religion teacher or as the teacher who takes the train to school, but something you might not have known about one of our favorite teachers, Ms. D’Alba, is that she has two dogs. Like many of us, she is a dog-lover at heart. Here is what she had to say about her two pups.

RR: What are the names of your dogs and what type of dogs are they?

Ms. D’Alba: They are Chiweenies, half Chihuahua and half Weiner dog. Their names are Oscar and Daisy. I named Oscar after Oscar Mayer Wieners, but I call him Oscar for short since that is too long.

RR: How long have you had them?

Ms. D’Alba: I have had Oscar for 10 years and Daisy for 7 years. We like Oscar better than Daisy though. He is just so lovable.

RR: How would you describe each dog?

Ms. D’Alba: Oscar is amazing, warm, fury, and loves to be petted. The more attention for Oscar, the better. Daisy is a dog-cat. Daisy and Oscar are very different, but they are loved the same way.

RR: What is it about your dogs that makes you love them so much?

Ms. D’Alba: They don’t talk back, they eat the food I give them, they are always so excited when I come home, and they are sad when I leave again. They also keep me warm in the winter.

RR: What is your favorite thing to do with your dogs or your best memory with them?

Ms. D’Alba: I love to take them to Laguna Beach. They are really afraid of water so I love to put them in the water because it is so funny. One day in Laguna, Daisy jumped out of her harness and ran all the way up the hill just to get away from the water. My son had to chase her all the way up just to get her.

It’s so wonderful that with all the time Ms. D’Alba invests in her students, she also has time to love her crazy dogs. She is in room 209 if you want to pay her a visit, to learn more about Jesus, or just have a chat about cute dogs!
