It is a well-known tradition for many seniors across the country to use a children’s backpack for their final year in high school. Thinking of it as a “full circle moment,” seniors are able to reminisce about their early childhood years and embrace the changes to come through their nostalgic backpacks.
While it is optional, the Class of 2025 was excited to partake in this tradition as a way to commemorate their senior year! In fact, a couple seniors were so excited that they decided to share their reasoning behind buying their backpacks.
Senior Kate Piper decided to buy a “Coraline” backpack to carry her various pens and papers. She said, “I bought my backpack because Coraline was one of my favorite movies as a kid, and I loved the cat keychain it came with.” Absolutely adorable, Kate’s backpack gets plenty of compliments!
Additionally, Grace Raskopf ‘25 shared her thoughts behind her senior backpack which is “Batman” themed. She explained, “I love the Batman movie with Robert Pattinson and I thought my backpack would be a funny way to show it.” While actor Robert Pattinson is not actually depicted on her backpack, I can definitely see the vision.
As you walk Rosary’s halls, be sure to pay attention to the cartoons, unicorns, and fun colors that pass you as a testament to our seniors’ creativity in selecting their backpacks for the year. We hope that they continue to cherish their time at Rosary and make the most out of their final year!
