Ahh the Grammys. My second favorite awards show. (What’s my favorite, you ask? The Tony Awards! Duh?)

This year, many upcoming and long time favorite artists have received a nomination for these esteemed music industry awards.

Teenage heartthrob turned Hailey hubby, Justin Bieber, has been nominated for Record of the Year with his hit single “Peaches.” Justin Bieber had a whopping 8.5 billion streams on Spotify this year. Needless to say, whether the Biebs wins or not, he has had a pretty incredible 2021.

Billboard’s named Top New Artist Olivia Rodrigo has also had a successful year. Rising to fame after her record breaking album “Sour” came out in May of 2021, Olivia has been nominated for 7 Grammy awards: including best song, best new artist, best record, best music video, best pop vocal performance, best pop vocal album, and record of the year. “Good for you” Olivia Rodrigo!

Swifties will not be happy to hear that Taylor Swift only received one nomination this year. “Evermore” received a nomination for best album. Taylor celebrated her nomination with a post of her singing “champagne problems” captioning the post “no problems today, just champagne.” Congrats Taylor.

And, what’s this? It seems that my choir has been nominated for best choral performance and best engineered album, classical. Ok, that was definitely a shameless plug. Anyways, stream Mahler’s Symphony Number 8 ‘Symphony of a Thousand’ with the National Childrens Chorus, Los Angeles Philharmonic, and Maestro Gustavo Dudamel at Walt Disney Concert Hall!

Congratulations to all of these incredible artists and everyone be sure to tune in to the Grammy’s January 31, 2022!
