Do you ever walk into a grocery store and feel overwhelmed by the endless options of snacks? Do you ever not know what to purchase because you’re scared of it tasting bad? Because I certainly do. So, I decided to taste and review some of the weirdest snacks I’ve ever seen just so you don’t have to.

1. Late July No Grain Tortilla Chips

This one of a kind corn-free chip is made with tigernut flour. Now, what even is tigernut? I couldn’t tell you, but what I do know is that these chips are delicious. I really enjoyed the sea salt and lime flavor, and I highly recommend eating them with salsa. They didn’t exactly taste like regular tortilla chips, but I think they’re just as good.

2. Trader Joe’s Chocolate Hummus

Okay, I know this sounds awful, but hear me out. Dip fruit (specifically strawberries and bananas) into the hummus for a delectable treat. I promise you can’t taste the chickpeas; it just tastes like light and creamy chocolate. However, if you do not like dark chocolate, this snack isn’t for you. I personally love dark chocolate, so I thoroughly enjoyed the chocolate hummus from Trader Joe’s.

3. Cauliflower Crackers

I have some mixed emotions about this snack. I tried the cheddar flavor, and they were oddly okay. They were thin, crispy, and salty. I think they’re supposed to be a healthier alternative to Cheez-its because they looked like them, but in all honestly, I’d rather just stick to Cheez-its. If I’m truly craving something cheesy and salty, I’m going to reach for the Cheez-its, not a vegetable version of them.

Although, this company does carry other products, including cauliflower stalks, which are really good. They are significantly better than the cheddar crackers, and I highly recommend them.

4. Hippeas

While this snack is more common than those previously mentioned, it still has one unusual ingredient: chickpeas. I’ve only ever tried the white cheddar and Himalayan salt flavors, but they’re both really enjoyable. They remind me of Cheeto puffs, but I think they’re better because they’re denser and overall healthier. If you take one thing away from this article, it definitely had to be this snack.

5. Trader Joe’s The Crispy Crunchy Mochi Rice Nuggets

I can’t even begin to say how amazing these are. They are so addicting, so crunchy, and so perfect. It’s really hard not to eat the entire bag in one sitting, but if you do, I totally understand. These mochi rice nuggets are a hidden gem from Trader Joe’s that you need to try as soon as possible.
