Testing Christmas Starbucks Drinks!
December 13, 2020
As the Christmas season approaches, Starbucks has started to make their holiday drinks again! This may be the perfect time to get a drink as finals season has also begun. As a Starbucks lover, I had to try some of these holiday drinks and rate them.
Out of all the holiday drinks, my sister Kathleen Martinez 23′, my mom Colleen Martinez 82′, and I tried the Peppermint Mocha, the Chestnut Praline Latte, and last but not least, the Caramel Brulee Latte
First, let’s start with the classic peppermint mocha. This holiday drink has been around for 18 years! Because I am vegan I substituted the milk for oat milk to make the drink vegan. Also instead of whip cream, I got Dark Chocolate Almond Milk Cold foam on top. Personally, I love peppermint and whipped chocolate, so the hint of coffee gave me so much energy! When my mom tried the drink she said, “I didn’t even think it was vegan. It has a great balance of peppermint and chocolate. Overall, the criticism I would give was how the sweetness was a little too much for me so I would give it 9/10.” On the other hand, my sister loves sweet drinks so she gave it a 10/10.

Next, we tried the Chestnut Praline Latte. This drink is flavored with caramelized chestnuts, praline crumbs, and spices. If you are looking for a calming and comforting drink, this is the perfect one for you. I liked this one, and it wasn’t too sweet, but it kind of smelled like my sisters’ peppermint candle. In my opinion, the flavors were ok. I personally like iced lattes, but I would definitely get it hot on a cold winter day. Overall, I give this drink 8/10. My sister Kathleen described the drink as, “Perfection in a cup. I loved this drink because I have never tried anything like it. It just makes me happy and I give it a 10/10.”

I myself could not have the last drink, the Caramel Brulee Latte, because there is no way to make it vegan. The good news is that my mom loved this drink. She described it as, “Sweet, but not too sweet. My favorite part is the caramel crumbs on top of the whipped cream. This tastes like something wonderful to have in front of a warm cozy fire. Even though its 80 degrees it warms my heart and it is so yummy. Obviously, I give it a 10/10.”

After all, Starbucks drinks are amazing iced or hot during the holiday season. My sister, my mom, and I all are coffee lovers and will be drinking these by the fire on a cold day, on a normal sunny day, and especially during finals week. These drinks not only make us happy, but also fill us with the energy of the holiday spirit. Vegan or not, everyone must try these drinks to spice up the holidays!
