Their scores against their opponents were: Calvary Chapel 10-8, Norwalk 16-2, and Anaheim 15-3. Go Royals!

Royal Reporter went to the Fullerton Tennis Courts and caught up with the head coach, Mrs. Simonton and a few of the other players.

We asked what their thoughts and goals were for this upcoming season.

“We have a great senior core group this year that will help make the team solid even though we already have great team chemistry,” Coach Simonton said. “Just from this summer, we have already improved a lot and expect to do great in Trinity League.”

One of Rosary’s varsity tennis team captains, Maria Braatz ‘20 stated, “My goals for the team this year is to stay positive, hype each other up, and to keep working hard on improving our skills.”

“I am very excited about this season because it’s my first year playing high school tennis,” Freshman varsity player, Madeleine Espinoza ‘23, expressed. “I can’t wait to get closer to my tennis family and hopefully make CIF this year.”

A team full of hope and excitement is all any coach can ask for.

Tennis’ next matches are on Tuesday (9/3) at 3:00 p.m. against Valley Christian high school at Valley Christian, and Thursday (9/5) at 2:30 p.m. against Esperanza high school at the Fullerton Tennis Courts. Come out and support our swingin’ royals.
