The 2019-2020 school year is upon us. And with the return of a new school year come plaid skirts and polo shirts.

Uniforms are a blessing. We do not have to spend hours trying to pick out a new outfit every morning.  However, some girls want to be able to add a personal touch to their look. Luckily, the Royal Reporter is here to tell you how to do just that (all while staying within the dress code).

1. Scrunchies

Scrunchies can be seen on the wrists of teenage girls almost everywhere you go. Add a pop of color to your morning by throwing a scrunchie or two on your wrist. You can buy scrunchies from pretty much any store nowadays.

2. Socks

Socks are a great way to add a personal touch to the uniform. They are also super inexpensive. Places like Target and Amazon sell adorable socks for low prices. From dancing otters to laughing cactus, you are sure to find some socks that speak to your personality.

 3. Sweatshirts (for seniors)

Every day (excluding formal uniform days), seniors get to wear college sweatshirts. Represent the college of your choice by throwing on a cute college sweatshirt before heading out the door.

 4. Bracelets

All jewelry must be simple and in good taste. Adding an Alex and Ani or Pura Vida bracelet is a fantastic way to portray your sense of style.

  5. Hair styles

Obviously, many girls opt for the classic “Rosary bun”. However, if you are feeling fancy, throw a braid or two in your hair or try a half up, half down look. It is sure to make your hair styling skills stand out.

  6. Embellished hair clips

Fancy hair clips are all the rage right now. With almost every retailer selling a new form of them, placing one or two in your hair in the morning can immediately spice up your look.
