To celebrate the role Mary plays in our lives and in her son Jesus’s life, we celebrate Mary during the entire month of May, and on Thursday, May 2nd, Rosary invited mothers and mother figures to Mass for May Crowning. Mothers and their daughters got to enjoy an hour and a half of spiritual connection.

Sofia Thomas ’21 expressed, “I love being able to spend time with my mom. I feel like Mass bonds us physically and spiritually. It’s good to be in an environment when it’s peaceful and there are no worries for an hour. My parents are very Catholic, so being able to attend Mass at school is a wonderful experience. In addition to being able to spend time with my mom, the school day was short which allowed us to eat lunch together. ”

Sofia’s mom explains, “This was the perfect opportunity for mothers to spend time with their daughters without having to worry about work or outside activities. Thankfully, school ended early for Sofia which let us spend more time together. ”

In addition to Mass, students were dismissed at noon, which gave students and mothers even more bonding time. Some students went to lunch with their moms, and some went shopping or to get their nails done.

Juliana Poggi ’20 tells the Royal Reporter, “I always treasure moments with my mom, especially when we are together in a peaceful moment. I really enjoy spending time with my mom, and being able to be with her in prayer.”

The month of May is truly the month of mothers, especially Mary. Be sure to wish your mother a wonderful Mother’s Day on the 12th!
