Rosary Basketball has had another extremely successful season this year with multiple wins during their regular season, playing in the CIF Southern Section Open Division, competing in the playoffs, and eventually winning the CIF Southern California Division I championships against La Jolla Country Day this past Tuesday.

The game was held at Servite high school, and the bleachers were packed from wall to wall with past, present and future royals and their families, along with some of our Servite brothers. The student section was especially impressive, with their white-out and in-sync cheers! Junior Sarah Gapinski commented, “The game was really amazing, and the spirit in the asylum was unmatched!”

The score was neck-and-neck for the majority of the game, with La Jolla Country Day and Rosary constantly competing for the lead. However, during the last quarter, Rosary pulled through, sustaining a substantial lead throughout the rest of the game, which led to their amazing win!

Senior Isabella Lopez commented, “The game was kind of stressful at times, especially when the refs made bad calls; however, I had a feeling we were going to win, especially since we beat them before, and we did!”

It was truly an exciting game, and we are so proud of the girls for all their hard work! The Royals are off to Sacramento today to compete in the CIF state championships, and we wish them all the best!

Go Royals!
