We all know the cult-classic American snack, Cheetos. Whether you like the regular cheese-flavored snacks or the spicy version we all have a favorite. However, did you know that there are a variety of different flavors such as steak-flavored Cheetos and grilled chicken Cheetos? One Royal Reporter, Ella Shi ’19 brought back some interesting flavored Cheetos from Shanghai, China for us to try.

We asked these Rosary Royals about what they thought about these Cheetos:

Margarita Diaz ‘19 tried the grilled chicken flavor and exclaimed, “It really doesn’t taste like Cheetos! If I ate it with a blindfold on, then I would have never guessed that it was a Cheeto.”

Angela Baltazar ‘19 said, “I actually really like it, because I feel like I have had it before. It reminds me of food I already know and enjoy. Also, the steak flavor is not too overpowering. I would definitely buy it.”

Alexandra Samawi ‘19 said, “This doesn’t taste like steak at all. In fact, I feel like it tastes like tomatoes. The cheeto also looks weird, because it almost doesn’t have a color. Instead of red or orange these cheetos are more beige and almost plain.”

Vanesa Farooq ’20 commented, “I wouldn’t call it a Cheeto, because it doesn’t have that familiar cheesy taste. However, it was still really good and kind of reminded me of a mix between the flavor a shrimp crisp and the texture of a Cheeto.”

Madeline Nguyen ‘19 tried both flavors and shared that the Cheetos tastes like ramen powder over Cheetos. Also, she claims that the two flavors are very similar in both taste and color.

What do you think? Would you try these Cheetos?
