RR:  Where do you guys work?

Izzy:  I work at Creamistry in Brea.

Ava:  French’s Pastry Bakery in Orange.

Abby:  Nothing Bundt Cakes in Orange.

Nikelle:  In-N-Out in Fullerton.

RR:  What types of tasks do you perform while at work?

Izzy:  I manage pretty much everything.  The cash register, making ice cream, freezing the cream with liquid nitrogen, doing the dishes, and cleaning.  It’s a very demanding job.

Ava:  I work in customer service so most of my shift is helping customers with orders.

Abby:  I work the cash register, decorate the cakes, and restock.

Nikelle:  I’m usually either in the back cutting tomatoes and lettuce or working the cash register.

RR:  Sounds like hard work.  About how often do you work?

Izzy:  Well, it varies since I get a new schedule every week.  I work anywhere from 1-4 days per week.

Ava:  I work 3-4 days a week depending on my school schedule and extracurricular activities.

Abby:  I work 3 days a week consecutively.

Nikelle:  I usually work about 3-4 times a week.

RR:  How do you manage your time- homework, sleep, social time, excercise, etc?

Izzy:  Honestly, I don’t have a ton of free time.  I’m usually either doing schoolwork, at the gym, at work, or out with my friends and family.  Sleeping is tough for me since I’m always up and going. I probably get around six hours per night on average.  But I like to be busy- I feel like it keeps me motivated to try my best and work my hardest in all other aspects of my life.

Ava:  It’s really, really hard but a huge part of it is communicating with my boss and not being afraid to let him know that my school comes first.

Abby:  I try as best as I can. However, it does get very hard.

Nikelle:  I’m able to manage my time because my manager is very flexible with hours and usually gives me shorter shifts, knowing I’m still in high school.

While it’s not easy to be super busy all the time, all four girls say that the extra work keeps them motivated and that they enjoy making money most of all.  These four working Rosary sisters agree that it’s nice to have their own money to spend instead of asking their parents each time they go out.  They like having the responsibility of having a job and all feel that they’re one step closer to adulthood.
