The Servite Friars Football season is only weeks away and the team is preparing for this exciting year.

Junior starter Trevor Christensen gave The Royal Reporter some insight into his personal football experience

R.R: What position do you play?

TC: I’m too good to be playing everywhere, so I’m playing Nose Guard next to my defensive end. I play on the defensive side of the ball, and my job is to hit the guy in front of me as hard as possible.”

R.R How long have you been playing football?

TC: “I played flag football from around 3rd grade to 6th grade and then played tackle football from 7th to whenever I stop playing, which is never.”

R.R: Why did you start playing football?

TC:  “I started playing football because I was forced to by my dad. I hated it for the first year then I started to love it. However, I’m really grateful for my dad because without him I wouldn’t have found my true passion.”

R.R: What game are you most excited about this season?

TC: “The game I am most excited for is the next game I have, and then the one after that, and every single game I have next.”

R.R: Do you want to continue your football career after high school?

TC: “I do wish to continue my football career after high school, [and] my friends are motivating me to continue into college. They motivate me every day to be the best that I can be.”

R.R: What is the toughest part about this season?

TC: “To me, the toughest part about this season is not quitting when the going gets rough.”

Trevor’s life is consumed with all things football, so how does he manage to keep a social life outside of the sport? Trevor’s girlfriend, junior at Rosary Academy Brianna Campos, shares what it is like to date a dedicated football player. She stated, “ Trevor is amazing! Dating a football player is the high school dream, yet we do face our challenges at times. We don’t get to hang out as much because he is so committed. Yet when I see him and all his hard work on the field, it’s all worth it.”

Be sure to come out and support Trevor and the Servite Football Team at their next game on Friday, September 7 at Cerritos College.
