On Sunday, May 13th, Royals celebrated Mother’s Day with their amazing, #1 supporters. We decided to catch up with them and see how they decided to spend the special day with their mothers.

Senior Maddy Fetter shared, “We took my mom away to Laguna Beach. It was a complete surprise, and we had a picnic on the beach since it’s her favorite spot.”

Sophomore Juliana Maldonado  shared, “We drove up to Northern California for my cousin’s wedding, so for Mother’s Day we took her to lunch at her favorite restaurant, Tacos Tijuana, which is in Fresno, California. Then for dinner, her childhood best friends took her to dinner at Pismo’s Restaurant also in Fresno, California. Since we were driving all day Sunday to get home, we made Mother’s day on Saturday.”

Senior Carolina Rios and her mother enjoyed ice cream at Gelato Paradiso at Fashion Island.

Freshman Claire Early shared, “ My family had a nice breakfast reservation to start off the day. Afterwards, my mom and I saw a performance of ‘Hamilton’ because nothing says ‘I love you mom’ like the American Revolution.”

Senior Salma Rocha shared, “ For mother’s day, I spent the morning with my mom and cooked her breakfast. I made her pumpkin pancakes, eggs, with tomatoes, onions, and pepper, and I cut up some orange slices and pineapple. Also, ever since I was little, I’ve gotten her a stuffed animal and some flowers, so this year I bought her a duck, since I’m obsessed with them! My grandma has also been recovering from some health issues, so we went to visit her and did her makeup, hair and nails.”

Senior Shannon Mora said, “ My sister Shona and I had breakfast at the Blue Front in the Orange Circle. Then we headed down to Crystal Cove in Laguna Beach. We took a walk down the beach and just spent some time together down there. We got my mom’s favorite shake at Shake Shack, and went to a few other shops.”

These girls really know how to treat their moms. Hopefully, this has given you some new ideas for celebrating for next Mother’s Day or just shown you how truly blessed mothers and mother-figures make the world!
