Burgers are among one of the most popular foods in America. Rosary is no exception because most of our Royals are always down for a good burger from one of their favorite places, In-N-Out or Five Guys.

The Royal Reporter asked a very important question around campus, Do you prefer In-N-Out or Five Guys? We asked a variety of grade levels in order to get more complete and accurate results.

In-N-Out is a staple in any Californians’ diet. With 329 locations all across the state, In-N-Out is a quick, quality option for a good meal. Five Guys, although not native to California, is still very popular among Rosary girls. With a convenient location on State College and Chapman, just down the street from our lovely campus, Five Guys is a slightly more expensive competitor to In-N-Out.

We started with asking how the Royals felt about In-N-Out. Elise Middleton ’18 commented that “In-N-Out is quality you can taste as their famous slogan states. It is consistent, available, and convenient.” Another Royal, Brooke Edwards ’21 stated, ” In-N-Out is one of my favorite meals, but I personally think the fries are overrated and too hyped up.”

Next we moved onto Five Guys and the comparison to In-N-Out. Meredith Seamen ’18 added, ” I enjoy five guys because unlike In-N-Out, you can customize your burger with the large variety of toppings that include barbecue sauce, lettuce, tomato, special sauce, and more.” Similar to Meredith, Sydney Markos ’18 commented, “I think the burgers at Five Guys taste better than In-N-Out; however, In-N-Out is a more affordable so I find myself going there more often.”

Overall, the general consensus about the debate on whether In-N-Out or Five Guys is better is undetermined. Both places have their pros and cons, and it is honestly a personally choice on what you prefer. The Royal Reporter encourages you to vote on which burger place is your favorite. You can find the poll on this website.
