It is well known across Rosary Academy’s campus that both students and faculty have all kinds of pets, big and small. These pets give joy, comfort, and companionship when school isn’t in session.

The Royal Reporter decided to interview some of our Royals to see what kinds of pets they have!

RR: What kind of pets do you have, and what are their names?

Tara White ’19: I have three Guinea pigs named Ellie, Ollie, and Sammy; two Finches named Stanley and Nelson; and a Parakeet named Louie!

Abbey Carpenter ’19: Bernie Sanders is my Yorkie, Bailey is my Shiatsu, and Groovy and Frank are my white and blue parakeets.

Sophie loves to play and spend time with her adopted family!

Melissa Wisnieski ’19: Both of my dogs are named Rocky and Sophie. Rocky is a Chihuahua and Sophie is a black German Shepherd. I also rescued a red Canary recently and named him Tiny Birb!

Sabrina Cunningham ’18: I have a lot of pets! Three chickens, a horse, a rabbit, and a dog. In order they’re named: Dr. No, Lillian, and Edgar; Tumble Weed, Moo, and Charlie.

RR: How do you spend time with your pets?

TW: Well, I like to take my Guinea pigs out of their cage and watch them run around. All of my birds are pretty chatty and are fun to listen to!

Tumbleweed is called “Houdini” by Sabrina and her family because of how smart she is.

AC: I like to take both my dogs on walks. My birds like to fly around my room and perch in random places.

MW: I like to pet and play with both of my dogs, of course! I enjoy hearing them singing all of the time.

SC: Most of the time I like to just hang out around with them and watch what they do in my backyard.

RR: What are the qualities you like the best in your pets?

TW: Both my Guinea pigs and my birds unconsciously bring joy to my life every day.

AC: Well, both of my dogs are pretty relaxed but are really friendly. My birds like to jump on my head or my leg while I’m doing homework, which gives me motivation as I work.

MW: Sophie is really smart! Also, she always gets excited when I hug someone. She jumps up and acts like she wants to be apart of it!

SC: My horse is actually pretty smart, my rabbit is really soft, and my dog has a distinct personality that really makes her unique!

Pets sure do hold a special place in our Royal’s hearts, either as best friends or extra family members. Where would we be without our pets?
