Whether you watch the show or not, you have probably heard of the controversial show, “The Bachelor.” Nicole Kavanaugh, a Rosary alumna, works on set at the show and gets to meet all the people we see on TV. The Royal Reporter asked Nicole for the scoop.

RR: How many seasons have you been working on “The Bachelor?”

Nicole Kavanaugh: This will be my third season. I currently just started “The Bachelorette.”

RR: How did you get the job and what does the job entail?

NK: I got the job through a coworker at Fullerton College who knew the stage manager on the show. I started as a Production Assistant and am now an Assistant Production Coordinator. As a PA, I would help by setting up dates and getting the house [the mansion where the contestants stay] ready. When we film, I get to be the director and stage manager’s assistant. I also cue the cast on set during rose ceremonies.

RR: How often do you get to interact with the contestants?

NK: I interact with contestants during each rose ceremony and on dates, so at least half of the days we film in LA.

RR: What is something that you know about the show that watchers would want to know?

NK: Chris Harrison is the nicest and most fun to work with. He makes sure everyone is always having fun while always joking around on set but keeping things professional. The entire show is filmed for about 2 months, and the girls have to be solely committed to the show.

RR: What contestants have you really liked?

NK: I really like Becca, Jojo, Jordan, Dean, Bryan, and Kendall. Everyone for the most part is really nice, but they stuck out to me.

RR: Do you think a Rosary girl would be a good contestant for the show?

NK: Yes, I think a Rosary girl would be so fun for the show especially since you live with girls for so long. It would be easy for Rosary girls to get along with everyone.
