Red and Gold is coming, and what Royal doesn’t love this crazy show?! It looks all fun on stage but it’s a lot of dedicated work as well. The ones who overlook everything per team are seniors Anna Shyne for red team and Maddy Fetter for gold team this year.

What is a producer, and what’s the big deal? Who better to ask than the producers themselves? Maddy Fetter describes a Red and Gold producer as, “the motivator and organizer of the team. Producer are the teams’ biggest cheerleaders.” Anna Shyne says, “It is someone who is in charge of everyone’s deadlines and any issues that come up.”

To give insight into what it’s like as a producer, the position can be challenging and fun with full commitment and dedication. Anna Shyne describes the responsibility as challenging, busy, and rewarding. Maddy says, “Although it’s a big responsibility, the key is organization, communication, and positive attitude.” Both producers agree that it’s worth it as you watch everyone work so hard to bring together the show.

Maddy Fetter also reminds her gold team, “Enjoy every single moment because this is truly an unforgettable experience, and it teaches more than anyone realizes. Take time to hang out with your friends on the opposite team because we are all sisters before, throughout, and after Red and Gold. I am so proud they’ve made the stressful days happier always making me smile.”

Anna Shyne also reminds her red team,”Remember to keep good sportsmanship. Give the show your all! Red and Gold will be over before you know it, so treasure the experience. You guys put so much work into this and are doing amazing.”

For the Royals who wish to be a producer in the future, watch Maddy and Anna as they handle the challenges, cheer up the team, and show how prepared it requires you to be. Make sure to listen to their advice for you. Maddy advises, “Know that there will be nights of no sleep, or times where you will get frustrated, but then you have to look around and remind yourself that the reason you took on this role was to be a guide and helper for all of your team throughout this process.”

Royals, if you have any questions, don’t be afraid to ask Maddy or Anna. They love to help as much as they can. They are the best people to ask for advice when it comes to this position.
