See how happy Tori is in this photo? That’s how happy she’ll be if she listens to me and goes to Berkeley.

Kendall Clarida, Supervising Editor

There has been a long-running debate about whether Victoria Bush ‘23 should go to UCLA or Berkeley (as seen by the tallies in the back of Ms. Barclay’s ’94 room). As someone who has tolerated Tori as my best friend since 7th grade, I know that my opinion is the only one that matters.

I’ve seen Tori at her highs and lows and know that Berkeley is where she’s meant to be. It’s like Rosary but college. She has wanted to go there basically her entire life. As little babies in middle school, we dreamed about going to Berkeley together and slaying so hard.

When she explained her visit to Berkeley, I could feel her passion for the school only increase. She loved the people, the philosophy department, and the campus. She talked to incredible students and faculty that made her feel like she could find a new home on campus. Tori knew I was right after her visit: “I know that I should have always trusted Kendall with my college decision. She’s been there through it all. I know, in the end, her opinion isn’t an opinion…it’s the truth.”

Although I believe I have the SUPERIOR opinion on Tori’s college decision, some of our other friends also think we know Tori well enough to make the decision for her. We don’t understand why the decision is so difficult when it’s obvious where she belongs. Charlotte Jordan ‘23 says, “Tori has no business making this decision. This is for her friends to decide. We’ll think rationally for her.”

Luckily, Tori didn’t falter from my advice and is going to Berkeley. Go Bears!
