Tonight, this will be YOU. Treat yourself!

Flashback to the evening of Nov. 30, many of us could be found hunched over our computer, frantically typing away, hoping and praying that we would make the 11:59 p.m. submission deadline for multiple colleges. And, once the submission button was pressed hours before that very deadline—we were FREE.

Free of the 1,000 pound burden that college apps seemingly placed on every seniors back. So, now what? Do we sit with our nerves, rocking back and forth, checking our Yahoo inbox each minute in hopes that a decision email will pop up? NO.

With this small sliver of time we have before finals, we can take a little bit of time to reset, recharge, and do some good old self-care.

Since many of us have been swamped with college-related things, I know a few of us may have become strangers on exactly how to treat ourselves, so, I’ve taken it upon myself as your self-care fairy godmother to compile a list of some ways you can do just that.

This one’s obviousSKINCARE!!!!
If you all are anything like me, the stress of all things college may have made you break out terribly. As a remedy for these college-induced breakouts and your need for relaxation, slather your face with your favorite face mask, get your facial roller from the freezer, and give yourself an at home facial! If you’re in need of a restock to your facial cabinet, I highly recommend the Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Masque from Kiehl’s paired with a generous amount of Bio-Oil rolled on by a chilled Rose Quartz facial roller!

This is a classicgetting cozy and reading a book or watching your favorite flick!

If you’ve read my previous articles, you know I’m a FOOL for getting bundled in blankets, lighting a candle, and reading a book for hours or going on a movie binge. And, the good thing about this mode of self-care, is that you can pair it with your facial! Sitting in your cozy bed, watching “Love Actually,” and smiling at every adorable part while your tight face mask flakes on your cozy jammies is the epitome of self-care.

It’s the holidays, so why not decorate for Christmas?!

Blast the halls of your house with Nat King Cole and Michael Bublé Christmas jams, get ALL the decorations out from the corner of the garage, and let the decorating begin! More than just putting you at ease, this decorating process will make you cheerful and fill your head with thoughts of presents, snow, and Santa instead of the nerve-racking college decisions to come.

I’ve just given you three suggestions on how to relax, so go do all of them! And, I know it’s easier said than done to find time to dedicate to your self, but once you do, it’ll temporarily make your college-induced stress feel miles and miles away.
