Rosary’s own Mr. Bevins as a young Servite Friar.

Seniors recently had to make the toughest, most statement-making decision of their slipping teendom—picking their senior quotes.

Many of Rosary’s own teachers were enduring this same difficult decision way back in their own final year of high school.

In honor of the shared struggle over senior quotes, I have put a little game together to see how well you really know the teen versions of your teacher. Below are the choices that you can choose from for each quote…

A) Ms. Barclay ’94 B) Mr. Bevins C) Mrs. Langenwalter D) Mr. Chavez E) Ms. Berry ’10 F) Mrs. Flati

1) I am me and you’re not. “I’ll fight till my bones and flesh be hacked, give me my armor.” -Macbeth in “Macbeth”

2) “People say nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.” -A.A. Milne (“Winnie the Pooh”)

3) “For without hope I cannot live, remember the past but do not dwell there, face the future where all our hope stands.” – Israel Kamakawiwo’ole

4) “Your writing is never as good as you hoped; but never as bad as you feared.” -Bertrand Russell

5) “Shall I crack any of the old jokes at which the audience never fails to laugh?”-Aristophanes

6) “I don’t talk things, sir. I talk the meaning of things.” -Faber in “Fahrenheit 451”

Answers…

1.The correct answer was B) Mr. Bevins! The Willy Shakes should have given it away IMMEDIATELY.

2.This quote from the author of the beloved children’s book matches its quoter—who is described by her students to be as sweet as honey. So…if you guessed C) Mrs. Langenwalter, you would be correct!

3.Look up at the options you have above. STEM, remember STEM. Come on, I’m basically giving you a freebie here! If you took my freebie and my very obvious STEM hint, you would know this quote belongs to the new teacher on the block E) Ms. Berry!

4.Despite this teacher going to a high school that did not partake in senior quotes, he shared what his would’ve been. He’s a film buff so much so that he even teaches a Lit. into Film course here at Rosary. Does any of that info ring a bell yet? If it did, and you guessed it was D) Mr. Chavez, you would be correct!

5.The one hint you will be getting for this teacher is located somewhere within this article… Did you find it? The picture of an icon with an equally as iconic Farrah Fawcett-esque do? If you saw the picture and thought, “Hey! That’s A) Ms. Barclay ’94!,” you would be correct!

6.This quote belongs to one of the purest perhaps even angelic souls to roam campus. Emphasis on the “angel” in angelic…You get what I meant by the “angel” in angelic? As in angels in the bible… No? Yes? Well, if you did, you would know that this quote belongs to F) Mrs. Flati!

Ok ok, the game of ‘Guess Who’ is officially over. Tally up your points out of six, and let me know how many you got correct in the comments!
