It’s been a little over a week since the 79th annual Venice International Film Festival began on August 31, 2022, and since then, the film industry’s biggest names have taken the red carpet by storm — astounding all fashion and movie lovers who critique best from home.

From simple to chic looks, many talented figures are not only making a name for themselves in the cinematic world, but they are also successfully setting foot in the fashion arena, attempting to match their impressive performances with fashion-forward looks.

Florence Pugh, arguably one of the most talented actresses of our time, stunned in Valentino’s Haute Couture black glitter-printed tulle dress, embroidered with silver sequence at the premier of her new film, “Don’t Worry Darling.” Paired with her classic, sleek short hair and a simple, rosy-glam makeup look, Pugh’s dress, styled by Corbin-Murray, did an exceptional job capturing her it-girl essence.

Moving right along, we have the man of the hour, Harry Styles, who rocked a Gucci suit from his collaboration, ‘HA HA HA,’ with the brand. The singer, songwriter, and now, serious actor, looked dashing in blue alongside Pugh before the “Don’t Worry Darling” premier. The suit’s light and dark blue color contrast gave it a playful tone, while its pointed shoulders, flattering trim, classic pockets, and series of six buttons lent him quite the professional look.

Gemma Chan, also a part of the “Don’t Worry Darling” cast, along with Pugh and Styles, dazzled in a custom Louis Vuitton gold column-styled gown. The sequin detail throughout the dress seemed an homage to the festival’s prestigious ambiance, and the flowers, which slowly enlarge towards the bottom of the dress, give it a playful, yet glamorous feel.

Timothee Chalamet looked nothing but breathtaking at the festival’s premier of his new movie, “Bones and All,” in a bold, red, custom Haider Achermann backless halter-top paired with fitted trousers. His look was a breath of fresh air for fans (myself included), who usually admire the actor’s neutral-toned red-carpet looks, but have been waiting for a red look for far too long.

Julianne Moore truly ‘brought it’ at this year’s Venice Film Festival, stunning in various red-carpet looks throughout the initial week. My favorite look in particular was her sheer Valentino cape gown, which was heavily sequined and paired with a gorgeous black body suit. The actress looked absolutely marvelous on the red-carpet, as well as in her time on the film festival’s ‘jury,’ alongside various other noteworthy film critics.

Sadie Sink looked marvelous in an Alexander McQueen cut-out fringed gown on the festival’s red-carpet to promote her new film, “The Whale.” Sink’s beautiful red hair coupled with the gown’s violet fringe helped accentuate her soft features and warm essence.

“Euphoria” stars Sydney Sweeney and Maude Apatow looked quite classy in Venice, posing in Armani gowns before the “Bones and All” premier. Sydney’s elegant, velvet gown topped with a neckline bow matched Maude’s also black, corset-like dress, and the two looked simply beautiful at the movie’s premier.

As the Venice International Film Festival comes to an end, it’s safe to say we will appreciate these red-carpet looks for what feels like a lifetime, which in reality, is just about a year, until the annual event takes place once more. These actors and actresses have truly embodied the astounding cinematic world through glamorous looks, and have left fans truly content (for the time being).
