With graduation rapidly approaching, the seniors of Rosary and Servite are seeing their final days as Royals and Friars. High school is a special time in everyone’s life, and we cannot believe that our years are ending. Let’s take a look back down memory lane.

Elena Navarro ‘22 shared that her favorite memory took place on the first day of her Anatomy class this year. She explained, “on our first day of class, Miss Lanctot had us share a fun fact about ourselves. One girl in my class shared that she could burp on command. We all begged for her to demonstrate. We were all expecting a small and cute burp, but no. It was a literal ROAR. We were laughing for a solid 15 minutes after that.”

Senior Grace Markos described one of her favorite memories during the end of her freshman year. She shared, “My good friend Kate Simmons ‘22 decided to sit under our lunch table. I had just finished my lunch, pasta with red sauce, and I knew what I had to do. I took Kate by the hand and led her fingers into my pasta. After a few seconds of confusion, she screamed and cried. Oh, and we were dressed up as boys. I could not stop laughing.”

Keira Sarni ‘22 had one of her favorite memories during AP Lit this year. She said, “So, basically, after every big unit we had or book we read this year, we celebrated by having a big potluck/breakfast/shindig. For example, we had Green Eggs and Gawain, Franks and Frankenstein, and Omelets and Othello (just to name a few). It was a fun way to discuss the texts while also making the most of our final year of Rosary English class.”

(Evelyn) My time at Rosary has been nothing short of memorable. At least once a day something happens that I know I’ll remember forever. I think the most memorable story from my time at Rosary would be from my freshman English class with Mr. Stegink. Mr. Stegink gave us the activity where we would have to think of a word and within the word, we had to draw it. Knowing the weird person I was freshman year, I chose the word shrimp. So I made the letter ‘p’ a shrimp and once I finished it, I turned it in and confidently handed Mr. Stegink my paper. After a few seconds of looking at it, Mr. Stegink states, “Evelyn. You spelled shirmp.” I immediately took it back, crumpled it up, and threw it in the trash can downstairs. Mr. Stegink followed me and took it out of the trashcan and he still has it to this day.

(Daly) It is very difficult to pick just one memory from my past four years at the academy. One of the first that pops into my mind is the time my friends and I had a funeral for a jar of peanut butter. It was while I was working at Royal Welcome sophomore year, and there is really nothing to say besides that. It was one of those had to be there moments…

Every day at Rosary Academy brings forth many, many, memorable moments. The class of 2022 is so excited to graduate in just three short weeks, but we are sad to say goodbye to the campus that has brought us all of our favorite memories.
