Chris Rock calls Jada Pinkett Smith G.I. Jane because she has been ROCKING a shaved head. Will Smith laughs, BUT Jada rolls her eyes in frusturation and disgust. Smith sees his wife’s anger and goes up to the stage and SMACKS Rock in the face. Rock laughs it off, but Smith goes in for another blow and shouts profanities at the comedian.

So, yes…that’s what went down. It was the talk of the night, and it really shifted the tone of the Oscars from joyful and celebratory to tense and uncomfortable.

Although this smack down will DEFINITELY go down in award show history, other crazy moments have also left their mark on the award show hall of fame. So, without further ado, let’s discuss some of the most wild moments in award show history, aside from ‘The Slap’ of course…

Kanye West and Taylor Swift fiasco at the 2009 VMAs

This is what birthed the Reputation album and Kanye’s controversial song “Famous.” If you happened to not witness or hear of this moment, this is what happened… Swift was making her acceptance speech on behalf of winning the VMA award for Best Female Video, and let’s just say, Kanye did not agree with the win. He stormed on stage and talked about how he believed Beyoncé deserved the award while Swift stood there speechless. The actual ordeal itself was not horrible, but it did cause a juicy, long lived feud between the pop star and rapper.

Adrien Brody goes in for a smooch at the 2003 Oscars

There’s not much of a background to this, it really was a crazy unexpected happening. Let’s breakdown the details… Brody wins the Best Actor award for his role in Polanski’s “The Pianist.” He goes up to receive his award. Ok, ok, pretty normal so far… And then he quite literally sweeps presenter Halle Berry off her feet and plants a big fat kiss on her… I mean, there’s not much to say, but… hopefully she was in the know about this show stopping smooch…

 “La La Land” and “Moonlight” mix-a-roo at the 2017 Oscars

This was more sad than crazy. This ALSO took place at the Oscars. Flash back to 2017. Equally amazing films “La La Land” and “Moonlight” are both nominated for the Best Picture award. Presenters Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway announce that the award for Best Picture goes to…”La La Land!” Oh, wait, just kidding. It was actually supposed to go to “Moonlight,” and that awkward clarification had to be made before the Oscars finale.

The fabulous, Adele Dazeem!

This hilarious mix-up was also at the Oscars. Man, the Oscars really has some track record… Back to the story though. Way back in 2014, presenter John Travolta announced the night’s performer. This performer was Idina Menzel, but Travolta announced someone by the name of Adele Dazeem. This was just funny. Funny, funny, funny.

Robin Thicke and Miley Cyrus twerk it out at the 2013 VMAS

Alongside the crowned queen of…gyration…Miley Cyrus, Thicke got up on stage in a striped get up, and him and Miley got jiggy with some wild dance moves. What an unexpected duo…
