As Red and Gold performance weekend quickly approaches, the Royals are eager to hit the stage. By the end of week four, most categories are finishing up their dances, drills, songs, and memorizing lines for the 52nd Red and Gold. Here’s an update on some of our beloved Captains:

Julianna Ortiz 23’, Red Dance Captain, stated that she “is really excited to see all of her and her girls’ hard work pay off on stage.” She said, “This is my first Red and Gold as a captain, so I am nervous but ready to lead my team through the entire process; it has been a lot of fun this far.”

Finley Hawkins ‘24, Gold Fashion Captain, had this to say when asked what she was most excited for in the last two weeks of Red and Gold practice, “I’m most excited to see the dance come together completely and to see all my costumes on stage with all of the girls in them!” Fashion Captains are hard at work trying to finish all of their costumes, hopefully, before the first Servite practice on February 26. Keep up the great work, ladies!

When asked how fashion is going, Brooke Kizziar ‘22, Gold Head Fashion Captain, said “It’s going. There has definitely been some forward progression. The costumes

are looking good. Hopefully we’ll have zero malfunctions. Go gold.”

One of our Red and Gold advisors, Ms. LaBonte ‘09 is especially excited for this year’s Red and Gold, stating, “I am so impressed with how far the teams have gone and how much they’ve accomplished.” She goes on to say, “ I am super excited to actually see the shows. From seeing the scripts beforehand, and then seeing every piece come together it’s exciting to see.”

Reagan Beuerlein ‘23, Red’s Co-Producer, is especially excited for the next few weeks. She said, “The process definitely has not been easy, but I am super happy with how everything is turning out and I can’t to display all of Red Team’s hard work!”

Red and Gold truly is the best time of the year, and we are so sad it is coming to an end. But, we are so excited to see what the next two weeks hold.
