Red and Gold is a beloved tradition at Rosary, and our freshmen are lucky to experience this tradition for the very first time. They got to choose the categories they wanted and were separated into their teams on Friday, Jan. 28.

Veronica Mercado ’25 is on Red drill and spoke about her experience: “I had no idea what to expect, but so far, Red and Gold is fun. I like learning the dances, and I think it’ll be cool to see it all come together.”

Erin Searle ’25 is on Gold drill this year. She said, “This experience is entirely new to me. I am enjoying Red and Gold much more than I thought I would. I am having a lot of fun with my Rosary sisters.”

When asked if she liked her category, Marisol Reza-Niebla ’25 said: “Right now, I am on a Gold drill. I like drill, but I also want to try something else. I enjoy the competition, and I’m excited to compete against my friends.”

Freshman Annalise Adamsen said: “I am on Red drill, and I enjoy it because I am connecting with the upperclassmen. I didn’t expect to have this much fun at practice, but I am excited about the show.”

Sounds like the freshmen are very excited for Red and Gold even before seeing the whole show come together. They can’t wait to see how the show turns out and for the thrill of the competition.
