Why have a functional, plain, boring backpack when you can have a tiny, bright green, Disney backpack meant for a 4-year-old? If you were to take a stroll through Rosary Academy, you’d find that most seniors at Rosary Academy agree with this sentiment.

From pictures of Lightning McQueen to hot pink moveable sequins, all sorts of fun backpacks sit on the shoulders of students of the Academy. We interviewed seniors with some of the most exciting school backpacks to ask them why they chose their bags.

Francesca Currasco-Passafiume ‘22 has famous heartthrob Justin Bieber on her backpack. She said, “I chose the backpack because I have been obsessed with Justin Bieber since I was in kindergarten in 2009. I am actually reusing my second-grade backpack”

Jade Sandoval ‘22 has Dory from Finding Dory on her backpack. She said, “Dory is on my school backpack and I chose it because “Finding Dory” is one of my favorite movies.”

Senior Eloise Sherard described her backpack as, “pink with Disney princesses and gold crowns all around, and there are also some hearts and flowers.” Sherard picked the backpack mostly because “it was $10 but also because it looks like the one I had in kindergarten.”
