Rosary Academy’s Cross Country Team just had their first meet of the season this Saturday, Sept. 11, and here is what some of Rosary’s runners had to say about their experiences.

Sophia Long ’24 expressed how she felt about her first cross country race: “The cross country meet this weekend was exciting and fun, but the actual race was challenging. I was really nervous going into the meet, but once I started running, I felt free and just kept going. I loved being able to spend time with my teammates and have them there on the sideline, cheering me on.”

Madison “Maddie” Encinas ’24 shared her thoughts on this meet, stating, “At first I was super nervous about racing because I did not know what to expect. Although, I was excited to see my team race and cheer for them.”

Ashley Hawley ’25 stated, “For my experience with my cross country meet, it was a little nerve-racking. This had been my first ever cross country meet, so it is natural to feel kind of nervous. Throughout the run I was feeling good, but I also thought that I could have pushed my self a little harder. Overall, I had a good run!”

The Royals Runner are training hard in preparation for the rest of their season. Their next race is this Friday, Sept. 17. Come out and support!
