The Rosary Swim Team practice schedule times changed during the first week of school.

The previous schedule was every weekday at Servite from 4:30 p.m. till 6:30 p.m. The new practice schedule is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 7:10 am. In addition, there is an hour of strength and conditioning at Rosary on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays after school.

The schedule changed because the Servite swim team now uses the pools in the afternoons. Coach Jess explained: “Because water polo and swim share the pool there’s not enough room for the swim team to practice. Also, morning practices gives the girls more time after school to be involved in other things. “

Rosary student Dianella Sy ’23 remarked: “Making practices last year was hard for me because my parents both have work until 4:30pm, so I would arrive twenty minutes late every practice. This year, I am fortunate I am able to drive so I do not have to bother my parents anymore.”

Despite the early hour, Charlotte Jordan ’23 believes it will help the team: “The schedule changed because many girls on the team were interested in continuing swim practice throughout the school year, as they did not want to lose all of the progress they made during our summer practices.”

Moreover, the early risers continuously practice to plunge into the meets in the upcoming season.
