Oh dear heavens. It’s AP season, Royals. I think it’s all fair that the smell of stress and copious amounts of coffee is wafting through the air.

It’s fair to say that most, if not all, of the students are stressed.

Layla Valenzuela ’23 said, “I have been doing nothing but studying the past week. I just can’t wait for these tests to be over.”

Personally, I have been eating, sleeping, and breathing “crash course.” I swear, John Green’s voice was narrating my dream last night.

Do our beloved AP teachers have any last minute wisdom for their student before they’re sent off to war- I mean AP tests?

AP Biology teacher, Mrs. Hunt suggests, “I keep telling my students ‘Make sure to get a good night’s sleep the night before your exam and be as calm as you can try to be that day!  A calm and rested mind can interpret the questions better!”

No one wants to take a test running on nothing but 12 minutes of sleep and an iced coffee. Sleep is vital to getting that 3-5 range.

Mr. Gangler, who teaches AP Computer Science said, “Get a lot of sleep. Drink a lot of water.

Simple, but effective.

The fantastic Ms. Barclay commented, “We’ve done our best, but a lot of it is up to the students to put in the work outside of class as well. As far as last minute review, it’s important to structure something helpful in the days leading up to the test, but I don’t think going overboard is the way to go.”

AP tests are one pounding headache. But try not to stress too much. Make sure to get a good night sleep the night before your test.
