I’ve always liked to think of myself as relatively productive: I’m in sports, I have some difficult classes, and I like to talk to my friends out of school when I can. But can I let you in on a little secret? I’m convinced there are superheroes walking among us commoners! You’re probably wondering, Anna, why are you bringing this up when you were just talking about your seemingly productive life? Let me answer that question with another question: Have you met Alicia Dofelmier?

This girl has me convinced that super heroes exist, as her list of activities is at least 20 times longer than my attention span. For the sake of finding the truth, I have asked her some questions to possibly unmask her as a superpowered-individual— let’s get to the bottom of this theory! (My main tell is that people that do not require caffeine in order to survive must have something special about them… we’ll see what I can uncover!)

Q. Which Rosary clubs are you participating in, and why these clubs?

A.

  • A&E Club because it was founded by one of my close friends from Connelly, Brooke Medina. And, because it’s a club where I can de-stress from school and just have fun with my friends. I am also CO-V.P. with Grace Finley.
  • Star Wars Club because I am a huge Star Wars fan ever since my 8th grade teacher got me into it. I am the V.P.
  • Royal Mouseketeers Club because I love everything Disney— the parks, the movies, the songs— everything!
  • The Royal Poets Society because I love to write poems since it’s a way for me to express myself.
  • The Harry Potter club because I grew up reading those books and love them as well as the Harry Potter theme parks and movies. I even dressed up as Hermione Granger for Halloween once.
  • The Political Science club because I want to learn more about politics and what’s going on in the world so I can make informed decisions.

Q. Do you have any extracurriculars outside of Rosary, and how do you keep everything balanced with school?

A.

I do Girl Scouts and Trinitas Theatre at Servite. I try to plan my week out on Sunday night so I know what I’m doing and when so that I know what I have to do for school going into the week.

Alicia loves having fun with her friends in Trinitas Theatre, which is only one of her many Rosary activities.

Q. Do you have any tips for people like me (who gets overwhelmed if there’s only one obligation per day for more than two consecutive days)?

A.

I would say use a planner, it’s honestly a life saver. I use a planner to keep all my assignments and extracurricular activities in order so I don’t forget something or feel overwhelmed.

Q. What are some of your hobbies and how do you make time for them?

A.

I love to write stories/poems/songs, read, and hang out with friends. I write for Journalism so I make time for that by putting it in my planner under school stuff. I try to read a little each night so I can wind down before bed. As for hanging out with friends I do that at school as well as on the weekends. I also try to Facetime with people to stay connected if I can’t see them in person.

Despite her many extracurriculars, Alicia still loves to spend time with her friends on Facetime and stay in touch with as many friends as she can during hybrid.

Now, I was getting a little impatient here– the signs were everywhere, she has to have something super about her! The time was perfect, I had to confront my theory.

Q. Have any instances in your life provoked you to believe that you are possibly of superhero-like descent?

A.

No, not really.

Foiled again! That’s something a superhero would say, but it was time to approach the ultimate tell—caffeine consumption or a lack thereof.

Q. How much coffee would you say you consume on a day-to-day basis? What is your coffee order?

I do not drink coffee regularly but my coffee order would have to be any Starbucks mochas or frappuccinos— my favorite frappuccino would be the caramel ribbon crunch one.

It’s confirmed, folks. There’s something super about Alicia Dofelmier, and it’s definitely her ability to be a well-rounded Royal. She’s going places, though I can’t say which— she’s got so many options, and her talents could bring so many kinds of good into this world. Isn’t that the definition of a superhero?
